Literature

Game are educational by their very nature and engage people, motivates them and helps them to keep attentions to what they are doing.

Teaching by game can improve the moral of the learner since bad consequences are rarely serious or lasting. You can restart a game any time after losing, there are no personal consequences and a quick specific feedback is given during each game. Whilst grades tell students if they failed to learn something but usually is too late to amend (Games, 2016).

While playing generic games (always excluding gambling) your mind opens to new concepts and ideas, take different perspectives and roles and experiment with different options and variables (Educationworld, 2016).

Research Questions:

  • Can we make Engaging games that help students to practice or master subjects at school and at home? (while still enjoying themselves)

  • What is e-learning?

  • How much time should the game take from a lesson?

  • What types of games students of different ages enjoy playing most?

  • What is the most popular genre that can become an educational game?

  • What subjects should I tackle?

  • Should I concentrate only on key skills since the game can be in collaboration and since the subjects are similar you can have the same game for all of them? (some subjects may require custom games)

  • Is it true that some subjects require custom games all can they be implemented under 1 game?

  • Should there be only one game or multiple?

  • Should it necessary be a video game?

  • Do all students enjoy games?

  • What if the situation becomes reversed? That those who enjoy reading won't like to play? (moderate)

  • Does it increase game addiction? Will it benefit or not?

  • Should it have a limit play time each day in order to control addiction?

  • What does generic public think about games?

  • Are games truly effective in teaching?

  • Do all teachers accept games? Or they shy out of worrying that the principal walks in and asks why students are playing?

  • What type of games are currently being used in education?

  • Is it gamification or adaptation or some other name?

Possible Final Research Question

What educationalcharacteristics games need to have to be more engaging and effective in passing information?
